How to take care of your scarf When creating a scarf, I endeavour to attach any embellishments in the sturdiest way possible. This means that almost all beads and other features are knitted or crocheted into the products for durability (not merely attached afterwards, where they can easily fall off). In other words, you'd have to actually sever the yarn to remove the beads. Scarves by artish are also designed to be worn. You don't have to be too precious with your scarf - it can be thrown around your neck as you galavant about or stuffed into your bag when you need to take it off. Having said this, it is still important to be aware of your scarf. Yarn can easily get caught on sharp objects and tear, or even become tangled and knotted. Washing your scarf Because artish scarves are made with materials you might not see on your average store-bought, mass-produced scarf, it's important to wash them with care. I can only recommend hand washing your scarf in cold water, then drying it flat in the shade. The majority of beads and embellishments are plastic or glass, and these are ok to get wet. However, some fasteners are made of wood, and while they are usually coated in some way, the colour may run if they get wet, so be careful when washing any items with wooden beads or fasteners. |
